Former Olympic athlete (javelin — or as he calls it, “throwing sticks very, very far”). Stuart's illustrious sporting career came to an abrupt end when he discovered single malt Scotch and realised you can't throw anything straight after three drams. He has since redirected his competitive spirit toward arguing about peat levels and insisting he can "definitely taste the maritime influence." By day, Stuart masquerades as a software developer -- a profession he chose primarily because it allows him to work from home in his dressing gown and nobody questions why he's nosing a glass at 11am ("it's research"). He co-founded Man On The Street Whisky in 2023 after growing tired of drinking alone and needing witnesses to verify his increasingly bold tasting notes. "Hints of grandma's handbag" remains his most contested call to date. When he's not writing code that occasionally works or rating whiskies with suspiciously generous scores, Stuart can be found explaining to strangers at parties that whisky is spelled without the 'e' -- a conversation nobody asked for and everyone tries to leave. His dream is to one day visit every distillery in Scotland, a goal his liver has formally objected to in writing.
